Day 01: Arrive at Paro and drive to Thimphu

Arrive in Paro and travel to Thimphu (1.5hrs) Bhutan’s capital. Stop by the Iron chain bridge built by a buddhist master in the 15th century. Transfer to your hotel upon arrival. The rest of the day is yours to do as you please. Enjoy a pleasant walk in the valley in the evening. 

Day-2: Thimphu to Punakha

Today, go sightseeing in Thimphu, including the BBS Tower, and get an overhead perspective of the Thimphu Valley. Visit Motithang mini zoo to see Takin which is Bhutan’s national animal. After that, go to the Anim Dratshang (Nunnery), the National Library, and the Paper Factory. Later in the afternoon, pay a visit to the Memorial Chorten, built in the memory of King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, the third king of Bhutan. After that, pay a visit to the School of Art and Craft. Towards evening, proceed to Punakha, a valley surrounded by snow-capped mountain peaks that served as Bhutan’s capital until 1955. Transfer to your hotel in Punakha when you arrive. Relax for the rest of the day.

Day-3: Punakha/Paro

This morning, go to Punakha Dzong, which was built by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel in the 17th century at the junction of the Pho and Mo Chu rivers. The Dzong houses religious relics as well as Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel’s embalmed body. Later, travel to Paro, Bhutan’s most scenic valley, which served as the historical crossroads for two of the most important trading routes to Tibet. Overnight stay in Paro.

Day-4: Paro

In the morning we will start early at Taktsang Monastery, often known as the ‘Tiger’s Nest,’ which is located 3000 feet above the valley floor. Later in the afternoon, pay a visit to Paro Dzong, the National Museum, which is located in a historic watchtower and houses the world’s best collection of Thangka Paintings.

Day-5: Paro/Deputure

Today, travel to Paro Airport to catch a flight back to your homeland or next destination, bringing with you memories to last a lifetime.
